Wadia Institute of Himalayan Geology is an autonomous research institution under the
Department of Science & Technology, Govt. of India, undertaking advance level of research in all
aspects of the geology and geodynamics of Himalaya. To encourage young students/researchers to make
career in emerging areas of earth sciences, the Institute also undertake sponsored projects. The Director,
WIHG invites applications for the purely temporary tenured position of Junior Research Fellows (JRF)
in the Dept of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India sponsored Project titled
“Geotechnical characterization of soil / rocks with special reference to active landslide in
Mandakini valley, Garhwal Himalaya” under the supervision of Dr. Vikram Gupta, Scientist ‘E’.
Presently, the tenure of the project is for two years.
JUNIOR RESEARCH FELLOW 01 (One)
Remuneration : Rs. 25,000/- p.m. consolidated for NET qualified candidates and Rs.
12,000/- p.m. consolidated for non-NET qualified candidates plus
admissible House Rent Allowance (HRA), which is at present @ 20%.
Age Limit : Not exceeding 28 years as on date of advertisement.
Essential Qualification : 1
st class M.Sc./M.Tech degree in Geology/Applied Geology
with consistently good academic record.
