Professor:
Pay Scale : Rs. 37,400-67,000/- (PB-4) plus Academic Grade Pay of Rs. 10,000/-
Education : 1) M. A. (Education) with 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever
grading system is followed) and B. Ed. with a minimum of 55% marks (or an equivalent
grade on a point based scale wherever grading system is followed).
2) Ph.D. in Education / concerned / allied / relevant discipline and
3) At least ten years of teaching experience {out of which three
03) years as Associate
Professor} in University department of education or College of Education of which a
minimum of five years at the M.Ed. / M.A. level with published work (minimum 10
publications) in the area of ones specialization.
4) A minimum score (400 points in Category-III) as stipulated in the Academic Performance
Indicator (API) based Performance Based Appraisal System (PBAS), set out in the
Appendix III of UGC Regulation, 2010 {(read with the UGC Regulation, 2013 (2nd
Amendment)}.
Desirable:
1) Proven experience in research.
2) Evidence of interest in interdisciplinary perspectives in liberal educational studies.
Associate Professor :
Pay Scale : Rs. 37,400-67,000/- (PB-4) plus Academic Grade Pay of Rs. 9,000/-
Education : 1) M. A. (Education) and B. Ed. with a minimum of 55% marks (or an equivalent grade on a
point based scale wherever grading system is followed).
2) Ph. D. in Education / concerned / allied / relevant discipline and
3) At least eight years of teaching experience in University department of education or
College of Education, with a minimum of three years at the M. Ed./M.A. level and has
published work (minimum 5 publications) in the relevant area of specialization.
4) A minimum score (300 points in Category-III) as stipulated in the Academic Performance
Indicator (API) based Performance Based Appraisal System (PBAS), set out in the
Appendix III of UGC Regulation, 2010 {(read with the UGC Regulation, 2013 (2nd
Amendment)}.
Desirable:
1) Proven experience in research.
2) Evidence of interest in interdisciplinary perspectives in liberal educational studies.
Assistant Professor :
Pay Scale : Rs. 15,600-39,100/- (PB-3) plus Academic Grade Pay of Rs. 6,000/-
Education : 1) Master’s Degree in one of the following subject with 55% marks (or an equivalent grade
on a point based scale wherever grading system is followed):
(a) Physics, (b) History / Geography / Political Science, (c) Assamese
2. M. Ed. Degree with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade on a point based scale
wherever grading system is followed).
3. Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, candidates must have cleared the National
Eligibility Test (NET) for Lecturers/Assistant Professors conducted by the UGC, CSIR,
or similar test accredited by the UGC. Candidates, who are, or have been awarded a Ph.D.
Degree, in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and
Procedure for Award of Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009, shall be exempted from the
requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and
appointment of Assistant Professor or equivalent positions in Universities / Colleges /
Institutions.
4. Without prejudice to the above, NET/SLET/SET shall also not be required for such
Masters Programmes in disciplines for which NET/SLET/SET is not conducted.
5. Any other stipulation prescribed by the UGC / NCTE from time to time for the position
of Assistant Professor, shall be mandatory.
Desirable: Ph.D. in Education with Pedagogic specialization.
Specialisation: At least one Assistant Professor will be appointed with specialisation in ICT
and another with specialisation in Special Education.
